Technical description

  • Rêve  is a product that combines the functions of air conditioner/heat pump and water radiator.
  • Rêve is available in 4 versions:

    AIR-COOLED
    Rêve 247C: «cooling only» + water radiator, without outdoor unit
    Rêve 237R:  «heat pump» + water radiator, without outdoor unit

    WATER-COOLED
    Rêve 248C H2O: «cooling only» + water radiator, without outdoor unit
    Rêve 237R  H2O:
    «heat pump» + water radiator, without outdoor unit

    The joint  kit to the heating plant is available as accessory. Its symmetric concept allows an easy installation, even when the Rêve unit has  been already mounted.

  • Details concerning the WATER-cooled models

    The WATER-cooled condensation gives many different advantages:

    ·   higher energy efficiency  (E.E.R. / C.O.P. up to 4,68);

    ·   lower energy consumption (630 W to obtain a cooling capacity > 3 kW);

    ·   free installation: not necessarily on a perimetral wall;

    ·   no holes in the wall are requested;

    ·   low sound level as the condenser doesn't need any fan.

    Obviously the water condensation needs a connection to a source of water, which can be:

    ·  town water

    ·  wellwater or groundwater

    ·  closed circuit system (water loop) with water at 30°C, according to EN14511 standard specifications.

    The connection to a source of water can be easy or very difficult; in the residential applications  the most common way to install a Rêve consists of a simple connection to the existing water pipes by means of two pipes (one inlet pipe and one outlet pipe).  In this case the water consumption is minimum.

    When a water source is available (wellwater, groundwater) it is possible to make a system of water pump and discharge supplying more than one Rêve. In this way the installation can condition the whole home, is ecological, low consumption and completely independent.

    Finally we attract the attention on the important application  in «water loop», typical of commercial installations (commercial centers, schools, offices, etc.), in which Rêve achieves the maximum energy efficiency, with E.E.R./C.O.P.  up to 4,68.

  • Details concerning the AIR-cooled models

    As air conditioner, the air-cooled version of Rêve belongs to the category of "packaged double ducts", defined by the 2002/31/CE European Directive as "air conditioners completely positioned inside the conditioned space, with the condenser air intake and air discharge outside by means of two ducts".

  • It can operate in 5 modes:
    - air conditioning;
    - heat pump;
    - dry only;
    - ventilation with air filtration;
    - water radiator.

  • Rêve has always the "water radiator" function, that can be used or not used; to use this function it's necessary to connect Rêve to the heating plant, independent or centralised. The connection can be made by means of a special optional kit, the interface module between Rêve and the heating plant; without this kit Rêve can be installed with the maximum flexibility as air conditioner/heat pump without outdoor unit (i.e., where there isn't a heating plant for climatic reasons).
  • The joint kit to the heating plant is symmetric and can be installed on the right side as well as on the left side; it has been realised to best adapt to the various existing conditions (pipes on right, pipes on left, outlet on right and return on left, outlet on top and return lower...).This means that the same kit (code 397011902) can be used for both the sides; the dimension and the shape of the kit allow to elegantly cover the majority of the hydraulic connections; moreover the thickness of the plastic of the top and lower parts has been reduced to facilitate the adaptation to the plant.The kit is composed of the plastic cover and of all the components (electronic and hydraulic) necessary to work in "water radiator" mode; the installer will have to do only the hydraulic connections to the outlet and to the return of the heating plant
  • The plastic cover of the kit is equipped with two shutter doors, one to access to the top part of the hydraulic connections and the other to access to the lower part of them; between the spaces there are the main controllers of the product:
    -  change-over switch from water radiator to air conditioner mode (winter/summer);
    - fan speed controller in water radiator mode;
    - controller of the water radiator temperature (from 6°C to 40°C).
    When the change-over switch is on "winter" position (water radiator mode) Rêve can't operate as air conditioner; in this position the three-way bypass valve (provided with the joint kit) allows the hot water to flow from the heating plant. A temperature sensor stops the fan operation if the temperature of the water is lower than 40°C; a high precision thermostat controls the ventilation to keep a room temperature adjustable from 6°C to 40°C. When the change-over switch is on "summer" position (air conditioner mode) Rêve can operate as air conditioner or heat pump (it depends on the model) and the bypass valve insulates the product from the heating plant, assuring no water flow inside the air/water exchanger. Rêve pressure drops and water flowrate are equivalent to these of the traditional water radiator, thus the installation of Rêve doesn't require any plant modification.
  • In air conditioning mode, Rêve achieves the maximum efficiency with outdoor temperatures from -8°C to +43°C and the adjustment of the room temperature is possible between 16°C and 30°C; this means that Rêve can cool up to 16°C starting from whichever room temperature higher than 16°C and, in the same way, Rêve can heat up to 30°C starting from whichever room temperature lower then 30°C. As an example, if the temperature of the room is 4°C and You want to heat it up to 24°C, You have only to activate the heat pump setting a desired temperature of 24°C.
  • Rêve is equipped with a special system for the collection and the elimination of the condensate produced by the evaporator; thanks to this system, when the unit works in cooling or dry modes, all the condensate is evaporated internally on the condenser. Consequently, the model Rêve 247C (straight cooling + water radiator) doesn't require any type of discharge for the condensate. In the heat pump model (Rêve 237R) the discharge of the condensate is necessary, but only in heat pump mode; in cooling and/or dry modes the unit doesn't produce condensate (as Rêve 247C).The discharge for condensate for this model (Rêve 237R) can be ducted outside or inside the room because in the unit frame there is a special duct.
  • The heat exchangers are in alluminium with hydrophilic surface, the most efficient material for this kind of application.
  • The air intake is mainly placed on the front of the unit with the addition of two small lateral grilles; the air intaken pass through a big anti-mould and anti-bacteria washable filter, easy to be extracted and washed, assuring clean air and maximum operating efficiency, both in air conditioning and water radiator modes. The air filtration and the ventilation (three-speeds by remote control) avoid the forming of the typical "black moustaches" around the standard water radiators.
  • The air outlet temperature is about  12 °C in «cooling» mode and 41 °C in «heat pump» mode. In « water radiator» mode, this temperature depends on the regulation of the heting plant : if the water temperaure is between 65 °C and 70 °C at the heat exchanger entry, the air outlet temperature can exceed 45 °C.
  • The volume of the air treated is considerable and varies from 280 to 330 m3/h, depending on the speed of the silent tangential fan, especially designed to obtain very low sound levels and not to be deformed also at the high temperatures to which is submitted.
  • The horizontal flap can be set manually to 6 fixed positions or can swing by remote control within two swinging fields: one for cooling mode and one for heating mode; moreover, the air outlet can be vertically controlled by manual flap.
  • On the front panel of the unit there are some controllers and indicators:
    -  infrared receiver for remote control;
    -  blue led indicating the operation of the timers;
    - yellow led indicating the "stand by" status;
    - green led indicating the operation in air conditioning/heat pump mode;
    - micro-switch control to activate or disable the unit in case of remote control loss.
  • By remote control it's possible to use all the functions of the air conditioner; a wide LCD display with symbols allows an easy setting and reading of the operation status, of the temperature set and of the real temperature in the room.
    The remote control can also program the operation cycles thanks to its digital timer to be set on the 24h and the week end management; moreover, inside the remote control there is a temperature sensor that, combined with the "I Feel" function, allows to adjust the temperature of the precise point in which the remote control is positioned according to the temperature selected; the result is the "best possible comfort".  A special circuit allows to prevent compressor over-pressures and to control defrosting cycles; Rêve doesn't emit cool air during defrosting cycles and change-overs from air conditioning to heat pump modes. The "dry" function allows to use Rêve also as dehumidifier; this function can be activated by remote control and assures dehumidification with low speed operating cycles as for the split-ystem air conditioners. All the operation parameters and the customer programmings are memorized on one EEprom; this special memory keeps the data without power supply or batteries. Thanks to this memory in case of black out  Rêve will re-start operating automatically on the basis of the parameters set before the power failure.
  • Rêve has been designed for a wall installation; it can be placed exactly in the space of an existing water radiator (with similar dimension, 10/12 elements), installed on a perimetral wall.
    It's provided with all the necessary for the installation:
    - template in 1:1 scale;
    - duct of 900 mm to be cut in two sections;
    - two internal grilles and two external grilles with metallic spring tie rod, especially projected to assure the maximum efficiency of the unit and to facilitate the installation from the inner of the room.
  • The installation is simplified by the mounting template and the wall fixing plate, similar to the one used for a split-system wall indoor unit; the product is designed to be installed at a minimum distance from the floor (as for a standard radiator) and the mounting process is the following:
    - mark the nozzles and the drilling points by means of the template;
    - make the holes for the condensing section, with a diameter of 162 mm;
    - make the hole for the condensate discharge, necessary only for the heat pump version;
    - mount the wall plate;
    - fill a socket for power supply;
    - hang the unit to the plate;
    - make the hydraulic connections if the product is used also as water radiator, by means of the special kit.
  • Rêve has been submitted to laboratory tests in special climatic rooms for a long time; its operation is optimal with duct of a 50 cm depht (this means that the perimetral wall depht may arrive to 50 cm). For this reason the duct provided with the unit has a lenght of 90 cm to be divided in two equal parts; each part, with the addition of the grilles, reaches exactly 50 cm of depht. From the laboratory tests it results that the unit can efficiently operate also with ducts of higher depht (up to 90 cm), as in case of installation in an attic. The rear part of Rêve has been designed also for glass installations, as is the case of rooms with glass walls, to be done using only the external grilles and not the internal ducts and grilles.
  • Rêve has been realized with first-quality materials; anti-scratch, anti-collision and UV resistant 92 gloss ABS (it doesn't yellow) for the external parts; the internal parts have been realized with anti-collision seed-expansible polystyrene with high characteristics of stability and thermal and sound insulation.
  • Some plastics are realized with the CIMPRES technique, which consists of the injection of an inert gas inside the plastics during the moulding process; this sophisticated technique assures the correct elasticity of the piece and the absence of defects in the shape.
