Several good reasons to choose the Heat Pump to support an existing fuel boiler:
    • This solution allows to optimize the existing heating plants.
    • It's particularly suitable in the case of refurbishment of central  heating systems which burn fossil energies (fuel, propane, natural gas).
    • The Heat Pump operates in priority since its performance is optimum. Below certains outdoor temperatures, the existing boiler intervents to satisfy the heating needs and in general to produce domestic hot water.
    • The fossil energy consumption is thus considerably reduced.
    • This solution enables the customer to satisfy his legitimate desire to reduce his heating bills and, at the same time,  to take part in the worldwide reduction of energy consumption and of the emission of greenhouse gases.
    • For example, by using a Heat Pump, the emission of greenhouse gases (CO2) is reduced by a factor of 24 in comparison with a fuel oil boiler.
    • Moreover, for the investments in Air/Water Heat Pump like principal source of heating of its own house, many European countries recognize financial benefits, depending on the Financial Law of each particular state.

Technibel proposes a range of accessories allowing the optimization of the operation of the heat pump with boiler support, in many different applications.

These accessories are::


3 control kits which include  (aquaset control unit + control cabinet + sensor set)

and can be used for different applications:

  • Case A: Back-up heat pump  – 1 zone radiators – "on/off" action on boiler and/or on make-up valve (by-pass valve not supplied, available as accessory)
  • Case B:  Back-up heat pump  – 1 zone radiators or 1 zone heating/cooling floor – Proportional operation on mixing valve ( not supplied, available as accessory)
  • Case C1: Back-up heat pump  – 2 mixed zones - floor + radiators  – Proportional operation on floor outgoing valve (not supplied) – "On/off action on make-up valve (by-pass valve not supplied, available as accessory)
  • Case C2: Back-up heat pump  – 2 floor heating/cooling zones – Proportional operation on floor outgoing valve (not supplied) – "On/off action on make-up valve (by-pass valve not supplied, available as accessory)

The control unit supplied with each of these 3 kits allows to control the whole installation (authorization of the boiler starting, with priority to the thermodinamic generator). Easy to be used, it allows to choose the operation mode: stop / heating / no freezing and to select  a heating level: Comfort or Economy  (time programmation possible in 2-zone applications).
